Prior to the pet photography session we will discuss the types of photographs you are hoping for and this will depend on your companion – be it a cat, dog or other pet. We can work together to find the right location.
Our four-legged companions play such an important part in our health and wellbeing. They are very much part of the family and we often consider them to be our soulmates. As time goes by so fast, celebrating that special bond is an opportunity some pet owners sadly miss. If you are expecting the arrival of a new puppy or kitten, want beautifully framed images of your pet with family members, or are looking to celebrate the life of your older companion with a pet photography session, I can create timeless photographs that bring everlasting memories. I also offer compassionate end-of-life photography with your older four-legged friends who may be sick or terminally ill.

What images does Helen take?
Helen is an award-winning pet and equine portrait photographer based in Buckinghamshire. She offers fine art or lifestyle images. All images are taken in an agreed outdoor location in Bucks or surroundaing counties such as Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Hertforshire.

The fine art image is a way of capturing a beautiful pose and it is a way of storytelling a moment and Capturing your
four-legged friends using artistic skills, something that you will be proud to have as a centrepiece on your wall at home.
Lifestyle Outdoor
Lifestyle photography captures the moment and lets it last forever. This includes everyday fun, which is authentically created into an image for you to smile at for a long time to come.
Helen can meet you in a location in Buckinghamshire or surrounding counties – Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire or Northamptonshire and photograph your canine or feline companion on their own or with their four-legged friends. We can also make time to get some of you with them.
I mix my love of the outdoors with my passion for animals and can join you to take photographs of your pets. I love taking pictures of dogs and cats – and I have been known to do a photoshoot or two of some beautifully coloured (and giant) reticulated python.
The safety and wellbeing of your pet is paramount. If they are nervous, I will always work at their speed and if their answer in ‘no’ to a suggested position then we work with that answer and try something else. To prevent a ‘cat-ass-trophy’ we will have a conversation before we meet so we can talk about your cat or dog and the best way to work with them and what motivates them such as treats or toys.
I am used to working with anxious dogs and have undertaken additional training on dog behaviour and canine first aid.
Overall, the aim is to have fun so you can receive some fantastic images expertly captured and returned to you in your chosen frame.

Pet Photography in Buckinghamshire – your investment

A relaxed and informal photography session of your pet starting at an agreed location in Buckinghamshire.
Telephone consultation to find out more about your pet and their personality, likes and dislikes.
Editing of images to ensure they look their very best.
£65 session fee secures your booking.
Please note: Mini pet photoshoots are available periodically, is available at a fixed time in a location identified in advance so a number of people can attend.
How I Work With You
Step One
Contact
Contact Helen using the booking form at the bottom of the page. This is where you can express an interest in your pet photoshoot.
Step Two
The Consultation
Helen will set up a consultation call to plan the shared vision for your pet photography session. You can tell Helen what you are hoping for and she will share her ideas for the photoshoot. This is the time to discuss the date, time, outdoor location and, ultimately, the end goal.
Step Three
The Creative
We meet up somewhere in Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire, and the photography session goes ahead. Helen then undertakes the creative post-production side of the photoshoot.
Step Four
The reveal
Helen will meet you for the reveal when you see your beautiful images in the finished format.
Step Five
The Masterpiece
The artwork will be sent to the printing partners, who create the image on your chosen wall art. They will package it and send it to Helen, and following the final checks, it will be delivered to you.

Since we consider our pets as key family members, we want to remember them with photographs. I aim to capture your pet’s personality and the amusing things that they do. I create for natural shots and while some images are posed they are created to look natural.

YOUR QUESTIONS
What if my pet plays up?
I have worked with shy and scared pets and know from my cats that our pets might not always be keen to have their photograph taken or cooperate during our time together. We will discuss their personality beforehand, including what they like and the best time of day for them. We will plan the session and, if needed, use their favourite toys and treats.
I suggest your dog wear a collar and lead rather than a harness, which can be removed during post-production editing.
We will likely take action shots first, and once your pet settles down, look to take some close-ups and other poses. Whatever happens, we will go with the flow and see how it goes! I look forward to working with you, and we will have a pawesome time!
