Why work with me?
Hello, my name is Helen. I am a lifestyle and fine art photographer specialising in pet, equine, and family portrait photography in Buckinghamshire and also work across Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
I have been photographing families since 2012 and, after some specialist training with an internationally renowned Photographer, I decided to branch out. Alongside my love of family portraiture, it is clear to me that our pets and equine companions play such an important part in our health and wellbeing and are very much part of the family. I now specialise in Cat, Dog and Horse portrait photography and offer the opportunity to have beach, woodland or urban photoshoots to create beautiful wall art for your home. I am passionate that we should have amazing images of our companions at all stages of their life. I also offer compassionate end of life and celebration of life sessions for older and terminally ill pets or horses.
While on location, I use a combination of documentary-style and some posed images and I will then artistically craft them post production to into your own masterpiece. I will take photographs as the situation unfolds and place myself unobtrusively around the action to anticipate what might happen next. I am passionate about capturing those special moments depicting the essence of each individual, family and animal.
I would also love to work with you to capture those special moments and preserve memories for your family by capturing the transition from childhood to adulthood in an easy going, fun way. Since your pet is a part of your family, they are often central to many family photoshoots.
Meet the family
Helen was brought up with cats, dogs, guinea pigs, a rabbit and a hamster. Her parents bought their first Birman when Helen was young, and Helen’s grandmother and mother went on to breed.
Helen has followed in that family tradition. Helen now has six cats. Five Birman cats and one black rescue. She breeds with three of her cats and is still a novice at herding cats and kittens, but thinks she has smashed it as a Crazy Cat Lady! The latest addition to the family is Harvey an apricot Toy Poodle. Helen will happily chat with you about animals for as long as needed.

Where shall we go for our photoshoot?
I will work with you as your photographer at an agreed outdoor location in Buckinghamshire, and surrounding counties.
I have successfully used a variety of woodland venues for dog photoshoots, including Stoke Woods near Bicester, Shotover Country Park in Oxford, Wittenham Clumps near Didcot, Faringdon’s Folly Tower, Bagley Woods Abingdon, Tring Park in Hertfordshire and next to the River Thames in Oxfordshire. Urban areas are equally as fun to get some amazing images. Helen’s latest image was of a cat outside Buckingham Church called “waiting for the church mouse”. This was awarded a Gold award by the Societies of Photographers in 2025.
Helen is based in North Buckinghamshire and will come and meet you in an outdoor location for your pet photographic experience. Regardless of your whereabouts, we are surrounded by such beautiful counties including Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Oxfordshire, we will have a wide choice of places to meet and get some fabulous photographs of you cat, dog, horse or pony, using nature as our backdrop.

Following your pet or equine photography session, your photos are meant to be show off rather than hidden amongst your social media feeds. I can offer you some images that you would be proud to place on your wall. You can choose from a range of wall art, albums and prints within your budget range.
Owning a fine art family, pet or equine portrait is an investment that will make you smile for many years. There will be no rush to ensure we get the best pet photographs possible. I will get to know you and your pet before the photoshoot to ensure I understand what you want from your time with me.
